By accessing or using StudyMate ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including visitors and registered users.

2. Description of Service

StudyMate is a free AI-powered study assistant that provides educational tools including AI chat tutoring, flashcard generation, quiz creation, study note generation, web search, and image generation. The Service is provided "as is" and is intended for educational purposes only.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information during registration
• Keep your password confidential and not share your account with others
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Be at least 13 years of age to use the Service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use StudyMate only for lawful, educational purposes. You must not:

• Use the Service to generate harmful, illegal, or offensive content
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the Service
• Use the Service to cheat on exams, assessments, or academic submissions in violation of your institution's policies
• Spam, abuse, or overload the Service with automated requests
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
• Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its operation

5. AI-Generated Content

StudyMate uses AI to generate responses, flashcards, quizzes, and study notes. AI-generated content may occasionally contain inaccuracies, errors, or incomplete information. You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated content is a study aid, not a substitute for professional advice, textbooks, or your course materials
• You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of any information provided by the Service
• You should not rely solely on AI-generated content for critical academic, medical, legal, or professional decisions

6. Intellectual Property

The StudyMate name, logo, design, and code are the intellectual property of StudyMate. Content you generate through the Service (flashcards, notes, quiz results) is yours. However, by using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process your content solely to provide the Service to you.

7. Daily Usage Limits

StudyMate provides 150 daily credits that reset at midnight (your local time). These limits exist to ensure fair usage and service availability for all users. We reserve the right to modify these limits at any time with reasonable notice.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StudyMate and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. This includes, but is not limited to, damages for loss of data, academic performance, or any other losses arising from reliance on AI-generated content.

9. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, including the availability of any feature, database, or content, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service. Your continued use after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
